Thank you for using the K-Master App (hereinafter: App) and your interest in our Privacy Policy. Thank you for using the K-Master App (hereinafter: App) and your interest in our Privacy Policy. In the following Privacy Policy, we inform you of the type and scope of processing of your personal data by Kaufland Stiftung & Co. KG (also referred to as “Kaufland”, “we” or “us” in the context of this Privacy Policy). Personal data is information that refers to you or can refer to you directly or indirectly. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the main legal basis for data protection. 1. Overview Kaufland does not collect any personal data when the App is downloaded or used. The information collected by all features of the App take place in the App on your smartphone. Kaufland does not have access to the collected information. Only anonymized data is processed by us in order to carry out a data usage analysis. Individual features: - Games in the App: Users can play one task per day in the App, i.e. they need to accomplish one task per day. From 11/27/2019, a new task will be shared every day. The next task can only be played once the previous one has been successfully accomplished. There are 4 stages in total that consist of 7 tasks each and one challenge at the end that can also be played at the market. After successfully completing a stage, a reward for the user is unlocked. The rewards consist of several virtual reality films. - Digital Scrapbook: Users can scan into the App collection cards that they can purchased or receive in Kaufland stores and then hold them in a digital Scrapbook. - “Master the Force” Certificate Users can obtain and print the “Master the Force” Certificate. This is obtained by accomplishing all the tasks in the booklet of the Scrapbook and the App. - Virtual Reality Glasses (VR): The Virtual Reality Glasses can be used to watch the VR films that are unlocked after successfully completing one of the 4 stages. There is a pair of VR Glasses in each store. In addition, the VR Glasses can be purchased at the store. - Augmented Reality: Look out for this sign and either hear a typical noise or bring selected characters to life. 2. Downloading our App in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store When downloading our App, the respective App Store operator (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) will automatically process data at its own responsibility. We have no influence on this data collection and are not responsible for it. Using our App We do not process any personal data while you use our App. All features and data processing activities take place locally on your smartphone. We only process anonymized data in order to carry out a usage analysis (see clause 8). 4. Access to the camera of your mobile device Certain tasks in the App must be carried out in a Kaufland store. The App recognizes that you are in a store by means of a scanned image. However, your location cannot be determined from this. The store could be anywhere in the world. The camera of your mobile end device will only be used to take an optional profile picture, accomplish the Augmented Reality tasks or scan collection cards. 5. Purpose of the processing The purpose of the processing is to retain customers by allowing them to collect digital Star Wars cards and providing games about Star Wars. The data is required to properly operate the software. 6. Legal basis of data processing The legal basis for processing data is Art. 6(1) (f) GDPR. Kaufland’s legitimate interest is to provide the contents of the App to you. 7. Erasure of the data The App will be available for download until 02/29/2020. However, the App itself will still be available after that date. No further usage analysis will take place after that date. Kaufland cannot access the App in any way after that date. 8. Usage analysis 8.1 Google Firebase We use the tracking service “Firebase” for our App which is provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 (“Google”). Google Firebase uses tracking mechanism that allows it to analyze anonymously your use of our App for the purposes of e.g. performance monitoring, error protocols and analysis of user behavior, e.g. which screens are viewed, which publications are opened and how many times. The purpose of the use of Firebase is to analyze the use of our App, regularly improve it and thereby operate it in a more cost-effective way. The statistics we obtain allow us to improve our offer and to develop it in a way that is more interesting to you as the user of the App. Firebase collects information about the use of our App and transmits it to Google in Ireland or the USA where it is stored. The information is collected and transmitted to Firebase only in anonymized form, not linked to other user’s data. Google will use the information referred to above to evaluate your use of our App anonymously and to provide additional services to us that relate to the use of apps. Unity Analytics In connection with this App, the following information is collected through the provider Unity Technologies, 30 3rd Street, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States, to analyze user behavior in Unity´s own responsibility: - Content viewed & number of user interfaces (commenting, liking, sharing, chat messages, search queries) - the mobile end device from which you launch our App (iOS, Android, desktop), - user ID, - time of server inquiry, - groups, tags. The information will be used to - valuate the use of our App, - optimize Unity’s services - generate reports on the App’s activities. No evaluations of a specific user will take place. Only average values of all users will be evaluated in order to get an overall view of usage. Facebook SDK is provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (Facebook). It helps to increase the advertising success of advertising campaigns for mobile apps that are placed via Facebook, for example by not displaying advertising for the corresponding app on devices on which it is already installed. In addition, Facebook SDK allows various evaluations for the installation of the app and the success of the advertising campaign. In addition, individual user activities (events) within the app can also be analyzed to better define the target group for advertising campaigns, for example. To this end, the K-Master app sends pseudonymized data to Facebook, such as the app ID and the information that the app has been started. The advertising ID provided by the terminal device’s operating system serves as the pseudonym (name may differ depending on the operating system). The processing of this data on Facebook takes place on a pseudonymized basis. You can prevent the use of the advertising ID and object to the use of your personal data by Facebook by resetting or deactivating the advertising ID through your operating system. 9. Social sharing Social sharing takes place via the features enabled on the respective smartphone. No processing takes place via the App. 11. Your data subject rights In accordance with Art. 15(1) GDPR, upon request, you have the right to obtain access to your personal data stored by Kaufland free of charge. If the legal requirements are met, you additionally have a right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art 18 GDPR) of your personal data. If the data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f), you have the right to object in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR. If you object to data processing the processing will cease thereafter, unless the Controller can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for further processing which override the data subject’s right to object. If you have provided the processed data yourself, you have a right to data portability in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR. If the data processing is based on consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR, you can withdraw your consent at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of previous processing. In the cases described above or if you have any questions or complaints, please contact the Data Protection Officer in writing or by email. In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
